However, they still needed to have heat, however gas furnaces were obviously not an option.
I have never grown up in a residence that didn’t have a working gas furnace or air conditioner. In fact, whenever our central air conditioner or gas furnace ceased working, all of us would immediately call a Heating, Ventilation & A/C specialist to drive out to our residence & service it. It is difficult for myself and others to even think about that days before electricity & modern machinery. However, I love to read books, & I wanted to understand how the generations before us were able to heat or cool their houses when they did not have modern Heating, Ventilation & A/C units. First of all, you should know that the generations before us didn’t have a requirement for modern air conditioners. That is because the generations before us were much smarter in the ways that they built their residences. Typically, older residences were built partially underground or in heavy shade in order to ensure that the air would be cooler. By orienting the porch, house, & windows a certain way, they would ensure that there was cool air in their residence separate from an air conditioner. However, they still needed to have heat, however gas furnaces were obviously not an option. However, for a long time, people have been counting on fireplaces & wood stoves to supply heat for their homes, & that tradition has still carried on into some residences today. Wood-burning Heating, Ventilation & A/C units are efficient, & they are less expensive than the modern gas furnaces that all of us are accustomed to. Every one of us should be genuinely careful about labeling these people as primitive for not owning air conditioners & gas furnaces. These people understood a lot about the challenges of working hard & typical home-building techniques that all of us can benefit from understanding.
